Pasay City records 66 drug-free barangays


A total of 66 out of 201 barangays in Pasay City were declared drugs-free by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Out of the remaining 135 barangays in the city, 22 were classified as slightly affected, 85 that are moderately affected, and 28 that are seriously affected.

Records as of September 20 showed that a total of 209 individuals enrolled for treatment and rehabilitation in the first quarter, 275 for the second quarter, and 153 for the third quarter.

Pasay City also won 3rd place in the 2021 search for the best video presentation relative to the local government unit’s best practice on anti-illegal drug campaign.

The city was given a plaque of recognition and cash amounting to P20,000 for winning the 3rd place for search for the best video presentation.

The Manila Bulletin has been trying to reach City Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) head Daniel Alfanoso for comment to no avail.
