COVID-19 active cases in the province of Bulacan continue to decline as Bulakenyos continue to cooperate and follow the health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando, in a telephone interview with Manila Bulletin on Wednesday night thanked Col. Manuel Lukban Jr., acting Bulacan police director, for the intensified police presence and visibility along the major roads, places of convergence, economic areas, and different establishments in the province.
Fernando also thanked Bulakenyos who heeded his call to wear face masks and face shields and to maintain social distancing.
He said the Provincial Health Office (PHO) has recorded new 220 new COVID-19 cases that brought the total to 82,163, of which 79,700 or 97 percent have recovered.
The PHO said the active cases are 1,086 (1 percent), of which 102 are admitted in the hospitals, 246 are in Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMF), while 738 are under home isolation. There were 17 new deaths reported bringing the total COVID-19 fatalities in Bulacan to 1,377.
Fernando also said that aside from the vaccination held at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Pavillion Convention Center in the City of Malolos, mobile vaccination in the province has been intensified.
He said 300 people were inoculated in Barangay Matungao in Bulakan town on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and another 300 were vaccinated in the village of San Nicolas also in Bulakan town.
