Over 1,000 devotees flocked to the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, also known as the Redemptorist Church, in Paranaque City on Wednesday (Oct. 20), the first “Araw ng Baclaran” (Baclaran Day) after the National Capital Region (NCR) was placed under Alert Level 3.

Under the current alert level, indoor capacity of religious gatherings is allowed at 30% while the outdoor capacity at 50%.

The church continued to implement the health protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields, and observance of physical distancing.

Baclaran church devotees were asked for their vaccination cards indicating they are fully vaccinated before they were allowed to enter the church, while those who are not yet vaccinated continued praying outside the church.

Volunteers were also deployed to ensure that the devotees were following the one-meter distance inside and outside the church.
