DOST-ITDI’s Chemistry Lab accredited anew for drinking water testing


The Inorganic Chemistry Section, Chemistry Laboratory of the Standards and Testing Division of the Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) has been granted accreditation for drinking water testing until 2023.

In a Facebook post, the DOST-ITDI announced the renewed laboratory accreditation extended by the Department of Health-Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (DOH-HFSRB) to its Chemistry Laboratory.

“We congratulate the Inorganic Chemistry Section, Chemistry Laboratory of the Standards and Testing Division, DOST-ITDI for the renewed laboratory accreditation for drinking water testing granted by the Department of Health - Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB)!,” read the DOST-ITDI post.

The accreditation is valid from Sept. 22, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2023. The laboratory’s accreditation number is 13-0021-2123-LW-1.

“The Laboratory is accredited in the chemical testing for Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Lead (Pb), Manganese (Mn), Total Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), Sodium (Na), Zinc (Zn), Fluoride, Chloride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Sulfate, Silicon, pH, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids, and Disinfectant Residual Chlorine,” the Institute said.

“This continued accreditation helps ensure the competence of our laboratory in the provision of accurate and reliable test results to ensure drinking water safety for the Filipino people.”
