Weather Lang steals show in 2021 Philracom Sprint

Weather Lang made a strong statement over the weekend, stunning the top guns to win the Philracom Sprint Race at the San Lazaro Business and Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.

A far fourth choice in the five-horse field, Weather Lang bided his time before unleashing his might that saw him thundering past rivals one after another to rule the 1,000-meter contest.

Asiong surprisingly dictated the pace with Smokin Saturday, Son Also Rises and Runway in tow.
But the five-year-old chestnut of Brigand out of Sky Is The Limit made his move halfway through the voyage and positioned himself in third, within striking distance of pace-setter Asiong. As they turned for home, Weather Lang kicked to high gear to prevail – thanks to the masterful driving of jockey Jigger Paano.

He clocked 58.4 seconds to reward the Running Rich Racing Stable the top prize of P900,000.
Second place and P337,500 went to the connections of Asiong, followed by Son Also Rises (P187,500) and Smokin Saturday coming in fourth for P75,000.
