QC marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month with free mammogram, breast ultrasound

The Quezon City government on Monday, Oct. 17, announced that they will offer free mammograms and breast ultrasounds to women in the city.

This is a part of the city government's celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Women ages 20 and above are encouraged to get checked, especially those who have breast cancer history in their families.

The program will run from Oct.18 to Oct. 31.

Participants are required to register in the nearest barangay health centers.

For those who will be screened with breast mass, the city government will provide an endorsement letter for a further mammogram or breast ultrasound at the Quezon City General Hospital.

The local government is also conducting lectures on cancer prevention, breast self-examination, and family planning.
