The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has issued a resolution protesting a fishing ban imposed by China in the South China Sea, and this has the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) applauding the move to protect the welfare of local fisherfolk and defend the country’s territorial rights.

While the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to go down in most parts of the country, the OCTA Research Group has tagged the reproduction number of infections in the cities of Naga in Bicol and Zamboanga in southern Mindanao as “high risk”.

The National Museum of the Philippines also announced it was opening its doors to the public anew on October 19.
