Navotas lifts liquor ban

The ordinance that prohibits the sale, purchase, and consumption of alcoholic beverages, or City Ordinance No. 2021-18, was lifted in Navotas City on Saturday, Oct. 16.

This followed the announcement that Metro Manila has been placed under Alert Level 3, effective on the same date. Under this alert level, quarantine restrictions have been eased allowing more economic activities.

However, drinking liquor in public places is still prohibited. Residents are only allowed to consume alcoholic beverages inside their residences.

The liquor ban was imposed in Navotas City in March, 2021, in line with the restrictions set by the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF) due to the surge of COVID-19 cases.
