CEBU CITY — A house and lot, a brand new car and other prizes await fully vaccinated individuals here.
The city government is offering raffle prizes in a bid to lure more residents to get vaccinated.
Other prizes include P100,000 worth of gift certificates for a hotel stay, P100,000 worth of scholarships, and P100,000 worth of groceries, Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama has announced.
The date of the raffle draw will be announced during the campaign's official launching on Monday, October 18.
The city's vaccination drive has been continuing. As of October 14, the city had already fully vaccinated 322,063 individuals.
In order to achieve herd immunity, the city government is targeting to vaccinate at least 700,000 residents. Latest census showed that the city has at least one million population.
Rama assured the Cebuanos that the city has ample supply of COVID-19 vaccine.
Noting the existence of vaccine hesitancy, Rama has asked the City Council to look for ways that would encourage more residents to take the vaccine.
The city, which is under general community quarantine, has been experiencing a steady decrease of new COVID-19 cases.
In the October 15 tally of the city's Emergency Operations Center, the city's active cases had gone down to 424.
