Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and his running mate Dr. Willie Ong received support from Batangas officials at the Ikaw Muna (IM) convention on Friday, Oct. 15.
All of the province's district representatives, board members, and 20 of the 34 municipal and city mayors, municipal councilors, and barangay chairs attended the IM convention held in Lipa in support of Domagoso.
The Batangas collective was led by Senator Ralph Recto.
Recto, who pledged support for Domagoso after the latter announced his presidential bid in Sept., assured Domagoso that he would receive a million votes from Batangas during the convention. He then urged the voting population of Batangas to vote for Domagoso.
“Kaya ang pakiusap ko sa ating mga kababayan, pag-isahin na natin si Mayor Isko para maging susunod na pangulo ng bansang Pilipinas (That’s why I'm asking our countrymen to rally behind Mayor Isko, so that he will be the next president of the Philippines),” said Recto.
Domagoso was even dubbed an “adopted son” of Lipa by the attending officials.
Lipa Mayor Eric Africa also gave Domagoso a resolution which authorized the former to enter a sister city relationship with Manila. (Seth Cabanban)
