ILOILO CITY — A barangay treasurer was shot and killed outside the old Antique Provincial Capitol in San Jose de Buenavista town Thursday, October 15.

A spot report from the Philippine National Police (PNP) of San Jose identified the victim as Jose Oliveros Jr., the 41-year-old treasurer of Barangay Del Pilar, Hamtic town.

Two different CCTV footages show that a motorcycle pulled up the street where Oliveros was walking and a man shot Oliveros in the head once. The motorcycle with the gunman and the driver then fled.

Oliveros was immediately taken to the nearby Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital, but he was already dead.

Macuja told authorities that he and Oliveros just got off the public jeepney when the crime happened. They were supposed to go to the nearby Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) to get the honorarium of barangay officials.

Meanwhile, the San Jose PNP does not have any leads yet as to the two suspects or the motive for killing Oliveros.
