The Makati City local government announced on Thursday that it is going to start the COVID-19 vaccination of its residents aged 12 to 17 who are patients of Makati Medical Center (MMC).
"Alinsunod sa utos ng DOH (Department of Health), mag-uumpisang magbakuna ang lungsod sa mga #ProudMakatizens edad 12 hanggang 17 taon na pasyente ng Makati Medical Center na may co-morbidities (In accordance to the order of DOH, the city will start the vaccination of Makatizens aged 12 to 17 who are patients of Makati Medical Center)," the LGU said in a Facebook post.
"Mag-antay lamang ng confirmation message para sa schedule ng ibang residente (Other residents must wait for their confirmatory text of their schedule)," it added.
According to the national government, the pilot vaccination of individuals aged 12 to 17 will commence in the following hospitals in Metro Manila:
1. Philippine Children’s Medical Center
2. National Children’s Hospital
3. Philippine Heart Center
4. Pasig City General Hospital
5. Fe Del Mundo Medical Center
6. Philippine General Hospital
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez said that the vaccination of minors will be done by phase starting with 15 to 17 years old, then 12 to 14. He added that after 14 days, the vaccination will then be expanded to other local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila.
As of Oct. 10, Makati City has already deployed 680,616 vaccines, with 359,003 individuals inoculated with the first dose and 267,386 fully vaccinated.
