Iloilo wins anew in Digital Governance Awards for COVID-19 response

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo Provincial Government has won anew in the Digital Governance Awards 2021 for using digital technology as one of its responses to COVID-19 pandemic.

The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) awarded the local government for its Provincial Civil Defense Case Referral System or ProCID Cares, which enhances referral system among district hospitals, clinics and other health facilities in the 42 towns and component city of Passi.

The Information and Communication Technology Management Office (ICTMO) headed by Sally Sibonga developed ProCID Cares, which is another brainchild of Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.

The Iloilo Provincial Government also won first place for Best COVID-19 Pandemic Response provincial category last year for its Reverse Isolation and Contact Tracing Application (RIsC TrAp).

The web-based app features information of people’s movement as they transact in various businesses, offices, fishing ports, or public markets across the province.

The app made it easier to encode data instead of manually filling-up travel and health declaration cards.
