A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Camarines Sur on Thursday night, Oct. 14, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

According to Phivolcs, the quake occurred at 10.08 p.m., and its epicenter was plotted 7 kilometers southwest of Canaman town in Camarines Sur.
The temblor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of 1 km.
Phivolcs said Intensity V was felt in Canaman, Camarines Sur; and Intensity IV in Calabanga, Camaligan, Gainza, Ocampo, Pili, and Sipocot, Camarines Sur.
Intensity III was observed Naga City, while Intensity II was monitored in Buhi, Camarines Sur.
Instrumental Intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity VI - Pili, Camarines Sur
Intensity V - Sipocot, Camarines Sur
Intensity III - Iriga City, Camarines Sur
Intensity II - Legazpi City, Albay
Intensity I - Mercedes, Camarines Norte
Phivolcs earlier measured the quake’s magnitude at 4.2.
State volcanologists warned that damages are expected, but it noted that no aftershock is seen to occur following the quake.
