Police sarge arrested for extortion inside San Mateo police station in Rizal


Operatives of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) have arrested a police sergeant accused of extorting money from the partner of one of the inmates of San Mateo Municipal Police Station in Rizal.

Nabbed was Police Staff Sgt. June Angeles. He was arrested after receiving the marked money inside the San Mateo police station at around 4 p.m. on Monday.

IMEG director Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo said the operation stemmed from the complaint that the policeman is demanding money in exchange for the release of a Certificate of Detention to one of the inmates.

An entrapment was then mapped out and resulted in the arrest of Angeles after receiving the two P500 bill marked money.

Dongbo said administrative charges were immediately slapped against Angeles who is currently detained at the IMEWG office at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
