The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) deployed its vaccination bus to Laguna to vaccinate over 300 as support to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination program of the national government.
“Despite the ongoing surge of cases, the Red Cross will continue to expand our Bakuna Buses and Bakuna Centers as we aim to reach out to more Filipinos,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dick Gordon.
As of Oct. 12, the PRC Bakuna Center in Laguna has vaccinated 12,984 individuals.
PRC volunteers and staff have been vaccinating residents around Laguna since Aug. 18 in its two “Bakuna Buses” provided by Victory Liner and one Bakuna Center in the Light Industry Science Park II (LSPI II), Barangay Real, Calamba City targeting COVID-19 priority group A4 or essential workers.
On Oct. 11, the PRC Laguna Chapter also deployed its “Bakuna Bus” in Barangay Paagahan, Mabitac and successfully vaccinated 251 individuals with their second dose of Sinovac.
“Our goal is to vaccinate as many as we can, especially now that our country has lower vaccine hesitancy,” Gordon said. “Together, let us win the war against COVID-19,” he added.
Currently, PRC has 24 “Bakuna Centers” located in the National Capital Region (NCR): PRC PLMC Mandaluyong, PRC EDSA Boni, PRC Pasay Chapter, PRC Port Area, PRC Manila – KABAKA, PRC Manila -Letran, PRC QC – Ever Commonwealth, PRC Rizal – Arcovia Mall Pasig, PRC Rizal – SanLo Mall Makati, and PRC PICC.
Its vaccination centers in North Luzon are located in PRC Tarlac City Walk Mall, PRC Bulacan -BSU, PRC Olongapo – Harbor Point, PRC Bataan – Penelco, PRC Ilocos Norte – Robinsons, and PRC La Union – Rotary Service Center.
In South Luzon, PRC has “Bakuna Centers” in PRC Batangas Xentro Mall, PRC Cavite – SM Bacoor, PRC Cavite – VistaMall GenTri, and PRC Laguna – LISP II.
PRC vaccination centers are also located in PRC NegrosOcc Gaisano (Visayas) and PRC Zamboanga City Chapter, PRC Iligan – Chung Hua, and PRC Davao City – Archdiocese Compound (Mindanao).
