PCG evacuates flood-affected residents due to typhoon ‘Maring’


Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have evacuated at least 10 people who were trapped in their house due to the massive flooding that hit Sta. Teresita town in Cagayan on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

The rescue operation in Sta. Teresita town was among the initiatives made by the PCG as it also deployed some of its personnel in Palawan and other areas severely affected by tropical storm "Maring".

In a statement, the PCG also reported that its personnel assisted three passengers, five vessels, 10 motorbancas, and two rolling cargoes stranded in Southern Tagalog; and three more vessels and seven motorbancas took shelter amid the tropical storm.

The affected ports were Real Port, Dinahican Port, Polillo Port and San Jose Port.
