P50-M worth of smuggled onions, cosmetic products, frozen seafood seized in Bulacan


An estimated P50 million worth of cosmetic products, frozen seafood and red onions were seized in a raid in a warehouse in Meycauayan, Bulacan, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) disclosed on Monday, Oct. 11.

The operation stemmed from a report about smuggled products being stored in n a warehouse owned by Elite Globus Primeholdings Corp. located at Bahay Pare Road, Sitio 4, Brgy. Bahay Pare in Meycauayan.

Accompanied by agents of the Manila International Container Port-Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP-CIIS) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), BOC personnel raided the area on Thursday, Oct. 7, using the Letter of Authority (LOA) signed by BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

“We’ve been intensifying our efforts against the illegal importation of agricultural products because this has a direct impact on our farmers and fishermen,
