The country's seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases have decreased by 29 percent, the OCTA Research group said on Monday, Oct. 11.
In a Twitter post, OCTA Research Team fellow Dr. Guido David said the 29 percent drop is the lowest since the period of August 6 to 12.
“The downward trend continued as the 7-day average decreased to 10,452, the lowest since Aug 6 to 12 during the first week of ECQ (enhanced community quarantine),” he wrote.
David said the 12,159 additional COVID-19 cases recorded on October 10, the highest since October 3, is "no cause for concern." Meanwhile, the country's reproduction number was 0.70, while the growth rate was at negative 29 percent.
There are also still areas in Northern Luzon and Western Mindanao that are still experiencing a surge of the more transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant, David added.
