“Our constant follow-up and dogged perseverance have borne fruit at last! We are glad that beneficiary families will now receive the cash assistance due to them. We will continue to coordinate with DSWD-NCR to address the appeals of other Navoteños who have yet to get their financial aid," Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), along with the local government, provided P5,000 worth of financial aid to a total of 3,003 families.

Since the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act 1 expired in 2020, the DSWD had to source the P8,000 fund from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

However, the AICS only allows a maximum of P5,000 per beneficiary. DSWD said they will distribute the remaining P3,000 on another distribution date.
