TNT's Poy Erram leaves Game 4 with head injury


The TNT Tropang Giga are likely holding their collective breath after center Poy Erram left Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals with an apparent head injury.

Erram sustained the injury while diving for the looseball with 8:29 left in the second quarter of the Tropang Giga’s 116-90 loss Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.

While also chasing for the looseball, San Miguel’s Mo Tautuaa inadvertently landed on Erram’s head, causing the TNT center to grimace in pain.

He eventually got back to the bench with help from his teammates but had to cover his head with a towel before being brought to the hospital for observation.

The Tropang Giga have yet to comment on Erram’s condition, but his status for the fifth game will be crucial in their quest to regain control of the best-of-seven series.

Foul trouble hounded Erram and Troy Rosario right from the get-go which allowed the Beermen to capitalize and even the best-of-seven affair at 2-2.

It was the most lopsided loss of their semifinal duel and it came after TNT built big leads in the previous three matches.
