Streaking T1 scored three 2-0 sweeps on its assignments for a perfect Day 3 showing in The International in Bucharest, Romania on Saturday, October 9 (Manila time).
The South Korea-based squad scored a total of six wins on Day 3 to put itself in contention for a spot in the upper bracket in the playoffs.
The Carlo “Kuku” Palad-led team is currently tied at the fourth spot in Group A with Evil Geniuses and Team Undying with an identical 8-6 win-loss slate.
Filipino wunderkind Karl “Karl” Jayme was a force to be reckoned with in T1’s impressive win streak, leading the forefront attack when they pulled off a dominant 2-0 sweep against Team Aster to start their day on a high note.
Utilizing his signature heroes Lina and Queen of Pain, Karl helped T1 score a 26-22 victory in Game 1 and a 28-22 win in Game 2.
T1 continued to roll in its second match of the day as it made quick work of Alliance with another 2-0 sweep.
Karl exploded with his Necrophos with a 9-1-8 KDA to power T1 to a quick 22-7 drubbing of Alliance in Game 1.
The European squad showed some resistance in Game 2 but it was still T1 who dictated the tempo all game long.
Karl wreaked havoc anew, this time with his Lina en route to an impressive 19-2-19 kills-deaths-assists (KDA) to secure the series for T1 on a 48-21 Game 2 win.
T1 then capped the day with another 2-0 sweep of Team Undying. Nuengnara “23Savage” Teeramahanon sizzled in the two-game stretch joining hands with Kuku to clobber the North American team, 32-10, in Game 1.
23Savage, using Tiny, put up a 6-1-12 KDA while Kuku's Earthshaker had an all-around game with a 10-2-16 KDA.
23Savage followed up his Game 1 performance with a polished 9-0-9 showing in the 28-16 Game 2 victory to seal the series for T1.
Meanwhile, Abed “Abed” Yusop and his EG slowed down on Day 3, standing ground against the defending champions OG with a 1-1 draw but fell to Virtus. Pro, 0-2, in its second match.
The Southeast Asian representative, Fnatic had the same fate on the third day and settled for a draw with Beastcoast 1-1 but bowed to Team Spirit in a 2-0 sweep loss.
