PH COVID-19 active cases dip below 100K with 12K new cases

The country recorded 12,159 more people who tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Based on the latest case bulletin, the new infections pushed the nationwide running tally to 2,666,562, wherein about 3.4 percent or 90,927 cases are still active.

Of those who are still receiving treatment, 72.2 percent have mild symptoms, 16.2 percent are asymptomatic, 6.70 percent are in moderate condition, 3.4 percent have severe symptoms, and 1.4 percent are in critical condition.

The death toll rose to 39,624, representing 1.49 percent of the COVID-19 case total - after 119 more people succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries increased to 2,536,011 or 95.1 percent of the case total with 27,727 new survivors.
