In a Facebook post, Domagoso shared his educational achievements after a controversial lawyer earlier criticized him for not having enough knowledge to run the country and called him "utak ampaw".

“Mahirap man ang buhay noon, ako po'y nagpursigi sa pag-aaral para makaahon mula sa kahirapan (Even though life was difficult back then, I continued with my studies to get out of poverty)," he wrote.

"Ako po ay produkto ng Public Education System, nag elementarya sa Almario at nag high school naman sa Tondo High. (I am a product of the Public Education System, I went to elementary school in Almario and high school in Tondo High),” Domagoso stated.

The Manila mayor finished post-graduate studies at the Harvard University under Executive Education Program, Strategic leadership program at the Oxford University, Bachelor of Laws at the Arellano University, Public Administration at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), and Local Legislation and Local Finance at the University of the Philippines (UP).

Domagoso also expressed his gratitude to former Vice Mayor Danny Lacuna for assisting him in earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree at the International Academy of Management and Economics (IAME).

The mayor then emphasized the importance of education.

“Mga kababayan, mahalaga po ang edukasyon. Ito po ang ating sandata para magkaroon ng magandang kinabukasan ang bawat isa (Fellow countrymen, our education is very important. This is our weapon to have a better future)." (Lemuel Baruela)
