Three Filipinos among council members of first-ever Miss Universe UAE

The Miss Universe Organization and Yugen Events recently announced the historical first-ever Miss Universe UAE competition that will be happening in Dubai.

The members of the council were recently introduced as well.

Among them are three Filipinos: Josh Yugen, President and National Director; Furne Amato, Head of Creatives, Fashion, and Design; and Maggie Wilson as Creative Consultant.

"Graced with the power of wisdom, cocooned with the armour of compassion and blossoming with the love for the extraordinary - the Official Miss Universe Council is the paragon of an undeniable force to reckon with."

According to them, the premiere edition of the legendary pageant will be held live and in partnership with the entertainment venue La Perle at Al Habtoor City, Dubai.

“I could not be more pleased to welcome the first-ever representative from the United Arab Emirates, to our globally televised event in December,” said Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. “The UAE is marking a very important time in its history, from the signing of the Abraham Accords, to hosting the World Expo, and there has never been a better time to shine a spotlight on the women residing in this country.”

“It is such an honour for Yugen Events to partner with an organization like MISS UNIVERSE®️, who has been in the industry for the last 70 years - inspiring and empowering women from all over the world.” said Josh. “Miss Universe UAE is not just a parade of beauty or celebration of intelligence but moreover she is a paragon of a purposeful queen and a heart to serve and help through her advocacies.”

The three-hour event will feature women representing the beauty and essence of the UAE competing in multiple categories, including personal statement, couture active wear, evening gown and interview.

Eligible to join are 18-28 years old that are UAE citizen or resident for at least three years with valid UAE residence visa.

There's also no minimum height requirement.
