Four passengers -- three women and a man -- reportedly sustained bruises and minor injuries in their legs after jumping off the burning train to the mainline tracks.

Meanwhile, the management said it is "currently exhausting all efforts to address the situation, putting into primary consideration the safety of the passengers."

"Provisional service is currently being implemented from MRT-3 North Avenue station to Shaw Boulevard station," it added.

The management is expected to release a more detailed statement soon.
