Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol took over for Onic Philippines as it pulled off a reverse sweep to spoil RSG Philippines’ celebration after making it to the playoffs in the MPL Philippines Season 8 on Saturday, October 9.

After absorbing a 15-4 beatdown at the hands of playoff seeking RSG in Game 1, Kairi on his Hayabusa made the plays when it mattered most for Onic, finishing with a flawless 7-0-4 score line in Game 2 and an equally impressive 9-1-4 KDA in Game 3. The win should come as a good momentum builder for Onic which already secured a spot in the upper bracket.

Meanwhile, the loss won’t hurt RSG that much, especially after securing a spot in the playoffs after the huge Game 1 win. The team stole a point in its series against Onic and was enough to reach 17 points on its total tally to have a three-point cushion over No. 7 Bren Esports which has 14 points.

Demonkite shone on that Game 1 win on his Ling with a 4-0-7 KDA.

RSG had the chance to go for a sweep in Game 2 but Onic had other things in mind. The team in black and yellow, behind Kairi’s heroics, crashed RSG’s party with a dominant 16-12 victory in just 14 minutes.

The Coach Yeb-mentored squad then kept the momentum on its side with Kairi’s Hayabusa still leading the attack. Onic hacked out a 13-10 win, surviving a stellar 6-2-3 performance from Demonkite’s Karina to seal the series in 18 minutes of play.

RSG’s win officially ended Bren’s Season 8 campaign even if the latter wins in a sweep against Blacklist and tie RSG in term of points.
