Gatchalian wants another Senate term


Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has vowed to address the “education crisis” hounding the country amid the pandemic if ever he would be reelected in the May 2022 elections.

Gatchalian filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator at the Harbor Garden Tent in Sofitel Manila, Pasay City on Friday, Oct. 8.

"Gusto kong ipagpatuloy ang mga nasimulan na natin sa Senado lalong lalo na ang mga solusyon para makaalis tayo sa tinatawag na education crisis (I want to continue what we have started in the Senate, especially to provide solutions so that we can get out of the so-called education crisis),” Gatchalian said.

He also promised to address the economic crisis amid the pandemic.

Gatchalian has been serving as senator since 2016.

He earlier offered to be the vice president of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte if ever she decides to run for president.

Gatchalian previously served as the representative of the First District of Valenzuela from 2001 to 2004, and from 2013 to 2016.
