DOLE-NCR regional director Atty. Sarah Mirasol signed on Oct. 7 a memorandum of agreement with Aniñon, PLMun president Dr. Ellen Presnedi, PLMun Registrar Assoc. Prof. Ramonito Mesina and DOLE Director Leonides Castillon Jr. as witnesses at PLMun in Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa.

Mirasol extended his gratitude to PLMun and the Muntinlupa City government for the partnership and said that the collaboration project will help in creating more employment opportunities for the students.

“With this partnership, we look forward to a more holistic approach in the implementation of DOLE’s youth-employment bridging program for the students of PLMun. Apart from our flagship programs for the youth, it is also essential that we continue working together in coming up with innovative programs for students that are aligned with the new normal,” said Mirasol.

DOLE-NCR offers the following youth-employment bridging programs: Labor market information advocacies through career guidance and employment coaching, job referral and placement, labor education for graduating students, JobStart Life Skills Training Program, and Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

In addition, DOLE-NCR and Muntinlupa officials launched the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program for 436 beneficiaries on Oct. 7.

Under the TUPAD program, displaced workers will be employed to assist in various programs of the city government for a minimum period of 10 days. Beneficiaries will receive a minimum daily wage of P537.

This batch of TUPAD program is funded through the congressional budget of Rep. Ruffy Biazon and will be deployed in public schools in Muntinlupa.

Biazon graced the orientation of TUPAD beneficiaries and vowed to support them through various social programs.
