PDEA, other stakeholders lead Cagayan inauguration of country’s first reformation center

Officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other partner agencies in Cagayan Valley led the inauguration of the country’s first “Reformation Center’’ in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Constructed through the joint efforts of 10 partner agencies, the center lies in the PDEA Regional Office 2 premises inside the Regional Government Center in Carig Sur.

The Reformation Center will cater to drug reformists where they will be trained by TESDA RO2 of the necessary skills to make them productive members of the community.

In a statement, PDEA disclosed that a total of 130 reformists from Tuguegarao City signified their interest to join the first three batches for the five training courses on masonry, plumbing, carpentry, electrical installation and maintenance and shielded metal arc welding.

“Beyond the odds and limitations, we have what we need and we use what we have,’’ PDEA Regional Office 2 (RO-2) Director Joel Plaza said during the ceremony. (Chito A. Chavez)
