Red Cross ‘Hot Meals on Wheels’ food truck reaches Aeta community in Cagayan


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to send hope to those affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Tthe PRC Cagayan Chapter provided hot meals to COVID-19 affected individuals last September 30 at Sitio Padungsul, an Aeta ancestral domain located at Brgy. Naddungan, Gattaran, Cagayan.

" Ang aming layunin ay magbigay ng pag asa sa mga nangangailangan lalo na ngayong pandemya. Anuman ang mangyari, patuloy lang ang pagserbisyo ng Red Cross volunteers at staff upang mas marami pang matulungan na mga Pilipino sa iba't ibang sulok ng Pilipinas," reiterates Senator Dick Gordon.

485 individuals comprised ofchildren, PWDs, lactating mothers, and senior citizens were given hot meals and facemasks.

As of September 30, 2021, PRC Cagayan Chapter has already served over 3,707 individuals by providing meals made in their Hot Meals on Wheels Food Truck in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the PRC Bakuna Buses is also deployed in Cagayan and has vaccinated over 2,257 individuals as of September 29, 2021. The Chapter targeted to vaccinate 600 individuals on October 1 and October 2 in Aparri and Buguey.
