‘No learning on the job anymore’, says Manotoc on Ilocos Norte reelection bid


Incumbent Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Wednesday, Oct. 7, as he bids for a second term in the upcoming 2022 polls.

He filed his COC with incumbent Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, 2nd District Representative Angelo Marcos Barba, and the rest of their team.

“There is no learning on the job anymore, but this will be a performance on the job already. With your mandate, and with your support, I’ll continue to be your working governor,” Manotoc said in a press conference.

Manotoc used to be a senior provincial board member from the second legislative district of Ilocos Norte from 2016 to 2019.

Manotoc is the son of Sen. Imee Marcos who also served as governor of the province from 2010 to 2019.
