No filers yet on the last 3 days of COC filing in Baras, Rizal


The office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Baras, Rizal has yet to see any filer as of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6.

Election Officer Renato Rom told Manila Bulletin that since October 1, the first day of the filing of the COC, not a single person aiming for any local elective post for the May 9, 2022 polls in Baras, has appeared in their office.

Rom said their official log book of COC filers has been empty since 12 noon on October 6.

The Comelec officer added that it is possible that on the last three remaining days of filing, the candidates are expected to troop to the Comelec office..

Rom said he hopes that the filing process for the last three days will be orderly.

No election-related incident has been reported so far.

Sources told Manila Bulletin that incumbent Mayor Kathrine Robles and her father, incumbent Vice Mayor Wilfredo Robles might switch places as both of them are on their last terms of office.
