As the global COVID-19 pandemic showed signs of business improvements in other countries, here in the Philippines, businesses such as beauty clinics and aesthetic centers are still at a great loss.
Due to the government’s order to close them (being one of the non-essentials), owners and practitioners of these centers faced a very difficult and uncertain future whether they’re going to close permanently, temporarily, or continue operating.
Jessa Macaraig, CEO of The Pretty You Aesthetic Center and Beauty Clinic, is one of the business owners who is pleading with the government to allow them to operate during the community quarantine.
“We are deeply affected by this pandemic and very sad we might lose our business too. I pity my employees also. In as much as I wanted to give them jobs, my business is so uncertain because we stopped operating. I hope the IATF allows us to operate and continue serving our clients during this time,” she said.
However, Jessa still looks on the brighter side of the story.
The 30-year-old Lady Boss is grateful because, despite the pandemic, her business just turned two and still counting its branches.
“We have eight branches up to date despite the pandemic. I really worked hard and did my best for all of these to happen. It wasn’t easy, but this is the sweetest fruit of my labor, so I am very thankful for all the Lord’s blessings,” Jessa shared.
When Jessa was young, she dreamed of having her billboard. The pretty lass from Bulacan never stopped dreaming and believing so now, she is very proud of her own billboard situated in BGC, Taguig.
Aside from this, the mom of a six-year-old girl is also into selling skincare products online.
Her start wasn’t that easy but because of her determination to grow her businesses, Jessa told us that nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself that you can make it through the guidance and blessing of the Lord.
For your future visits, The Pretty You branches are located in Mandaluyong, Taguig, Pasig, Bacoor (Cavite), Quezon City, Pasay, Makati and Malolos (Bulacan). Meanwhile, Belle skin products are available worldwide and nationwide.
Meanwhile, acting is not new to Jessa. When she was 18, she would be frequently seen in some of ABS-CBN’s TV series. Her scenes with Angel Locsin were her most favorite and memorable.
She would oftentimes be mistaken with the lovely actress because of their resemblance. Given the chance, Jessa wants to do scenes with Angel again because of the latter’s good acting skills as well as attitude.
She described Angel as very humble and down-to-earth.
Aside from being a businesswoman, Jessa is trying her luck into modeling. For one, her face is the model of her businesses.
