A 46-year-old man was gunned down by armed men riding in tandem in Quezon City on Monday night.
The victim was ambushed by the suspects and was shot inside his car while driving along East service road, Baranggay Unang Sigaw, at about 8:50 p.m.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Jessie Dela Cruz, a native of Bulacan.
According to a report from PTV, Dela Cruz was the president of the jeepney driver's association in Caloocan.
Dela Cruz, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, got out of his car to ask for help and was rushed to Manila Central University Hospital.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at 9:30 p.m.
The police recovered a gun allegedly owned by the victim.
QCPD and Scene of the Crime Operatives (S.O.C.O) have yet to identify the suspects as well as the motive behind the killing. (Aaron Dioquino)
