Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Monday called on voters on to stop electing a president and a vice president who belong to different parties.
"Today, I encourage each and everyone of you mga kababayan ko 'wag niyo kami paghiwalayin ni Willie (To our fellow Filipinos, don't separate me with Willie)," Domagoso said when asked by the media during his filing of Certificate of Cadicacy (COC), if he could work with Senator Christopher Lawrence Go or Buhay party-list Rep. Jose “Lito” L. Atienza Jr. as his Vice President in case he wins the 2022 national elections.
"Pagod na kayo ng away. Boboto ng presidente iba boboto ng bise presidente, lima anim na awayan ng awayan (You're tired of all the fighting. You're going to vote president and vice president from different parties which will cause five to six years of fighting). One will be opposition, one will be administration, nakalimutan na 'yung tao (They already forgot about the people)," he added.
Domagoso and his running mate Dr. Willie Ong filed their COC at Sofitel Harbor Garden Tents in Pasay City on Monday, Oct. 4.
The local chief executive also bared the reason why he chose Ong as his running mate.
"Kaya we opted and decided to choose a doctor to help our situation so that portion of my obligation if elected as president will be dedicated to attending to our economic challenges, buhay ng tao, pagrebisa o pagbigay ng panahon sa pagtaas ng presyo ng bilhin, kawalan ng trabaho, these things kahit paano mabibigyan ko ng sapat na oras (The life of the people, to give attention to the increase of commodity prices, the unemployment problem, these things I would give my attention to)," Domagoso said.
