Pasay police arrest 6 KTV bar workers

Police arrested six workers of a KTV bar in Pasay City for failing to observe social distancing and curfew hours on Sunday, Oct. 3.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City police chief, said members of the Station Intelligence Section raided GLX Galaxy KTV Bar at the Hobbies of Asia on Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City at about 2:30 a.m.

Paday-os identified the arrested persons as Michael Relampago, 29, club floor manager; Efren Pusing, 32, waiter; Mark Anthony Cervbito, 27; Joel Caalim, 26; Jerry Quartero, 33; and Arjay Glen Rebulas, 33.

He said the KTV bar was raided upon receiving information about its continuous operation despite the threat of COVID-19.

The city police chief said no customer was found inside the bar during the raid as it was about to close when the cops arrived.

The bar caters to Chinese and Korean customers, police said.

Relampago will be charged for violation of Republic Act 11332 (non-cooperation of the person or entities identified as having a noticeable disease or affected by the health event of emergency) while the other workers were issued violation receipts (OVRs) for failing to observe social distancing and curfew hours.

The city government ordered the closure of the bar for violating the new alert system guidelines.

Operations of nightclubs and bars are still prohibited in the National Capital Region (NCR) since it is still under General Community Quarantine Alert Level 4.
