Mayor Sara Duterte cancels medical leave


DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced on Monday, October 4, that her initial plan to leave the country and go on a medical leave for a few days is not going to happen.

Duterte-Carpio said during her program over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR 87.5) that her medical leave scheduled for the first week of October is already cancelled.

“Our trip to Singapore was cancelled after one of our colleagues, not me, has been tested positive for COVID-19,” Mayor Sara said in vernacular.

Mayor Sara said that they were informed that Singapore will not allow them entry following the positive RT-PCR test result of their colleague.

The city mayor said that they were respectively informed of their RT-PCR test results on October 4, Monday morning.

Mayor Sara earlier said that she will be taking leave from her responsibility as mayor of the city from October 5 to 8 and another day in April 2022.

The city mayor, however, still did not disclose her specific medical reasons behind the planned break.
