Choco Mucho crashed out of the quarterfinals of the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship Monday night with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-21 loss to powerhouse Supreme Chonburi in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The Filipina spikers showed promise in the second set when they took an early 7-3 lead in the second set, but the Thais displayed their championship experience in adjusting into their game with Pleumjit Thinkaow leading the charge in regaining the momentum.

Tied at 21-all after Kalei Mau fired an off-the-block spike, Malika Kanthong unleashed three straight points to take Chonburi at set point.

Mylene Paat saved a point, but Kanthong returned with another kill to seal the set for the Thais.

Chonburi started the third frame with a 4-3 lead and never looked back.

The defeat relegated Choco Mucho to the classification round for fifth to seventh places against Team Rebisco, which earlier bowed to another Thai squad in Nakhon Ratchasima QminC.
