Pasay cops arrest murder suspect in Laguna


A gun-for-hire group member wanted for murder was arrested Friday night by Pasay City police in Binan City, Laguna.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City Police chief, identified the suspect as Alfredo Paguirigan Yu Jr..Yu was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of murder issued by Judge Caroline Rojas Jaucian of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 26 in San Fernando City, La Union, on Aug. 9, 2016.

Police said the suspect was arrested at about 9:15 p.m. at Block 5, Lot 9, Saint Lukes Extension St., Saint Francis Homes 7 in Barangay San Antonio, Binan City.

The suspect was accused of killing one Jonathan Casuga on Jan. 16, 2016 on Ortega St. in Barangay 2, San Fernando City, La Union.

Police said the arrested suspect is a member of the “Asislo Criminal Group” led by a certain Bendot Asislo based in San Gabriel town, La Union.

The gun-for-hire group was also responsible for the transport of volumes of marijuana sourced from La Uninon-Benguet and Ilocos Sur,according to the police report.

Yu was listed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as one of the most wanted persons with a bounty of P140,000 for his arrest.

The suspect is now detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility pending the issuance of commitment order and return of warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
