Several partylist aspirants have already filed their certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) for the May 2022 elections on Friday, Oct. 1.

Kabayan party-list (Comelec)

Among the early birds were the Kabayan partylist who introduced former lawmaker Ron P. Salo as first nominee and Dr. Jon Flavier as second nominee.

Salo said Kabayan will push in the Congress its advocacies related to health, housing, livelihood, education, and welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

For his part, Flavier recalled the rumor that Kabayan and its former representative and now Presidential spokesman Harry Roque allegedly clashed.

“Pero nung magkasama sila, si Harry Roque at ang aking kasama si Congress Representative Ron Salo, ay nagtulungan para sa (But when they were together, Harry Roque and my fellow Congress Representative Ron Salo, worked together for the) Universal Health Care,” Flavier said.

He vowed that Kabayan would push for the implementation of the UHC.

Kabayan or Kabalikat ng Mamamayan defines itself as “a multi-sector party that represents Filipinos in various marginalized but highly important sectors in Philippine society.”

The Agricultural Sector Alliance of the Philippines, Inc. (AGAP), Pilipinas Para sa Pinoy (PPP) and Toda partylists have also filed their CONAs.

Other partylist aspirants so far were DIWA, Alona, Democratic Workers Association, CANCER, and People’s Volunteer Against Illegal Drugs, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

This is a developing story.
