The bureau disclosed that the "highest monthly collection recorded to date" is 5.3 percent P3 billion higher than its P56.9-billion target for the month.

"The BOC once again continues to showcase its consistency, exceeding the monthly collection target for nine consecutive months for 2021," the bureau said.

According to the BOC-Financial Service, eight out of the 17 collection districts exceeded their target for the month.

These are the Ports of Limay, Manila, San Fernando, Zamboanga, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, and Clark.

"As of date, BOC collected P472.204 billion since January reflecting the 76.6 percent of the 2021 target collection – P616.749 billion," the BOC said.

It attributed its positive revenue collection performance to the "improved valuation and intensified collection efforts of all the ports, improvement of importation volume and the government’s effort in ensuring unhampered movement of goods domestically and internationally considering the pandemic situation."
