PH Red Cross ambassador Catriona Gray promotes need to get tested for COVID-19

For Philippine Red Cross (PRC) ambassador and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, getting tested regularly for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a way to protect herself and the people around her from the deadly virus.

Gray got tested for COVID-19 at the PRC molecular laboratory early this week and gamely joined the PRC’s campaign to strengthen testing by answering the question: “Whom do you get tested for?”

“With the virus still around, we have an obligation to take care of ourselves to better protect others,” Gray said.

“I encourage everyone to get tested when they feel any symptom or upon confirmation of exposure to a COVID-19 positive individual,” she added.

Although vaccines work and are readily available, Gray - together with her team - encouraged everyone to still get tested regularly.

“I got tested for work. Ikaw (You), whom do you get tested for?” the 2018 Miss Universe said as she promoted the need to get tested for COVID-19.

Gray shared that she gets regularly tested for work. As a provider for her family, she continues to work in the Philippines, away from her parents in Australia.

She regularly takes COVID-19 swab tests to protect herself and the people she works with.

To schedule swab or saliva RT-PCR test, interested individuals may book appointments through book.redcross.org.ph.

In line with its efforts to help fight COVID-19, The PRC continues to strengthen its testing capacity as it nears its five million mark.
