“Ang layunin natin sa Philippine Red Cross (PRC) ay mabigyan ng bakuna ang mga tao na lubos na nangangailangan lalo na sa malalayong lugar at yung mga walang access sa bakuna (Our goal at the PRC is to provide vaccines to people who are in dire need, especially in remote areas and those who do not have access to vaccines),” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon on Thursday, Sept. 30 said.

PRC has been deploying its “Bakuna Buses” to vaccinate people in far-flung areas due to the inaccessibility of vaccination centers in their proximity.

With the help of the local government units (LGUs), PRC can reach and provide vaccination programs in their areas.

In Laguna for instance, a total of 640 individuals were already fully vaccinated through the “Bakuna Bus.”

On Sept. 30, PRC also deployed four of its “Bakuna Buses” to various locations including Caloocan, Batangas, and Cavite to vaccinate more individuals from COVID-19 priority groups.

“The key is to get vaccinated right away, it doesn’t matter which brand because all the seven vaccines we have in the country are safe and effective in fighting against COVID-19,” Gordon said.

The PRC “Bakuna Bus” program first started its deployment on July 1, 2021, to inoculate residents in Metro Manila.

Since then, PRC “Bakuna” buses have been stationed in different parts nationwide, providing vaccination to over 61,337 individuals.

PRC is also set to roll out its “Bakuna Buses” in Bagong Silangan ES, Caloocan, Alitagtag Batangas, Brgy. Gairan, Bogo City Cebu, and Summer Point, Imus Cavite.

As of Sept. 17, the PRC “Bakuna Buses” in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Calabarzon have vaccinated 1,261 in Caloocan, 6,125 in Cavite, and 5,856 in Batangas.

To register for vaccination, interested individuals may call 1158 or send email at [email protected].

As of Sept. 23, PRC has vaccinated 253,026 individuals against COVID-19 in its “Bakuna Centers” and “Bakuna Buses” nationwide.
