DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Duterte–Carpio shared her virtual family bonding and moments with her mother and brothers, including First Congressional District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, who is in isolation and recovering after testing positive for COVID-19, with netizens on Tuesday, September 28.
Mayor Sara uploaded on her Facebook account a screengrab of her video conversation with her mother Elizabeth Zimmerman, her brothers Paolo and the city Vice Mayor Baste, and her husband Atty. Mans Carpio last night.
“Kapag meron nagpapositive sa pamilya, nagvi-video call kami para magpaalam na sa nagkasakit dahil hindi natin alam ano ang mangyayari dahil matindi ang COVID-19 (When there’s someone in the family who turns positive we do a video call to say our goodbye to the one who is sick because we have no idea what will happen knowing how severe COVID-19 is),” the presidential daughter wrote in her social media account.
“Pinagdarasal namin kagabi na hindi anihin ng COVID si Cong. Pulong at kung kunin man siya, kami naman ang ipagdasal niya kung siya... ay sakaling sa kaharian ng Diyos siya makapasok (We prayed that COVID won’t take away Cong. Pulong but if ever he is taken, we tell him to pray for us if ever he gets to enter the kingdom of God)” Mayor Sara added, with a smiley face emoji.
Mayor Sara also took the opportunity to remind her constituents to take extra care and protect their loved ones from the virus by following the minimum health and safety protocols. She also reminded the people to constantly wear face masks and face shields, especially outside the house.
