Sampaloc tops list of areas with highest active COVID-19 cases in Manila


Sampaloc district in Manila has recorded the highest number of active COVID-19 cases in Manila as of Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Latest data from the Manila Health Department (MHD) and the Manila Emergency Operations Center (MEOC) showed there were 292 active cases of COVID-19 in Sampaloc as of Tuesday.

It was followed by Tondo 1 with 139 cases; Tondo 2 with 114; and Sta. Cruz with 109.

Sampaloc had the highest recovery rate with 15,576; Tondo 1 with 12,088; and Tondo with 8,997.

Meanwhile, Tondo 1 District had the most number of deaths at 378.

To date, the total number of cases in Manila is 84,253. Of this, 81,527 have recovered while 1,578 died due to the disease 1,578.

The MHD also reported that a total of 2,489,296 vaccine doses have already been administered in the city of Manila. (Lemuel Baruela)
