Larrazabal revealed this information on Twitter Monday, Sept. 28.

"Not running for the Senate. Running in the House as a district representative," he said.

Larrazabal said he made the decision to run for congress after talking with family and friends.

"No one derailed me. I made the decision to run for the district after talking with family and friends in the district," he said.

Larrazabal said he already informed Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto about his decision.

"Made the decision some time back," he said.

It was in July when Larrazabal announced his plan to run for senator in the May 2022 polls under the Lacson-Sotto tandem.

He served as a poll commissioner from September 2009 to February 2011.
