9 minors among 78 new COVID-19 cases in Tanay, Rizal


Tanay town in Rizal has logged 78 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, including nine minors aged four to 15 years old, as of Sept. 24.

The youngest COVID-19 patient is a four-year-old boy from Barangay Tandang Kutyo, who like the eight other minors, has experienced mild symptoms.

Some of them contracted the virus from COVID-19 positive patients.

The latest update from the office of Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco shows that there are 480 active cases in the town, including 78 new cases and 28 new recoveries.

Barangay Sampaloc, an upland village remains on top among the 11 highland barangays with the most number of active cases, having 101.

Of the villages in the lowland barangays, Barangay Plaza Aldea has the most number of active cases with 90; followed by Tandang Kutyo, 59; and Kat Bayani, 48 cases; while the rest of the nine villages have 39 and below cases except for Barangay Tabing Ilog which has zero active case as of Sept. 24. One new death was recorded.
