Supporters launch 9-day novena prayer for PRRD and Sara's political plans

DAVAO CITY – Supporters of Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte launched on Thursday, September 23, a nine-day novena nationwide for the frontliners who selflessly risk their lives to be of service to the nation following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The novena began at the Santo Niño Shrine, while the Mayor Sara’s supporters will gather at the Simala Shrine on October 1, the ninth day or culmination of the novena. The succeeding novenas will be held at various catholic churches nationwide.

A Sara Duterte for President Movement said in its official Facebook page that aside from praying for frontliners, its novena intentions include prayers for the mayor and her father, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, as they chart their own political plans.

The group is also looking forward to a peaceful filing of the candidates’ certificate of candidacy starting on October 1, 2021. All supporters of Mayor Sara are encouraged to wear green clothes, her signature color as they continue their crusade.

Sara Duterte for President Movement also belongs to the Ituloy ang Pagbabago Movement, an alliance of various political and socio-civic groups urging the presidential daughter to run for the country’s highest post in the 2022 elections.

Mayor Sara, on the other hand, expressed her gratitude to the people behind the movement for organizing a nationwide novena primarily for the country’s frontliners. She also thanked them and the other movement for their endless support.

“Hindi ko man lahat mabanggit isa-isa ang mga pangalan ninyo, ang mahalaga nasa puso nating lahat ang kalagayan ng mga frontliners. Salamat din po sa walang sawa ninyong suporta,” Mayor Sara said in her official Facebook page as she shared the announcement of the movement.
