Pasig City’s COVID-19 first dose jabs breach 400,000 mark


The Pasig City local government announced on Thursday that it has already vaccinated more than 400,000 Pasigueños with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

"As of September 23, 2021 (Thursday), the Pasig City Vaccination Team was able to deploy 718,231 COVID-19 vaccines to cover the vaccination of eligible individuals under DOH-identified priority groups A1 - A5. This is following the IATF Resolution allowing for the simultaneous vaccination of individuals under A1 - A5 priority groups," the local government unit (LGU) said.

"Of the 718,231 COVID-19 vaccines deployed, 402,574 were for the first dose; and 315,657 were for the second dose," it added.

The LGU said that of the vaccines administered, 393,066 were CoronaVac Sinovac; 126,447 Oxford AstraZeneca; 96,882 Pfizer BioNTech; 3,811 Gamaleya Sputnik V; 11,879 Johnson & Johnson Janssen; 82,903 Moderna; and 3,243 Sinopharm.

Earlier, the LGU also vaccinated more than 1,000 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Pasig City Jail.

According to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, the local government unit (LGU) has vaccinated 1,338 male PDLs, 137 females PDLs, and 110 individuals from the Metro Psych Maybunga (psychiatric hospital).
